Awakenings is a journey of the soul. The first theme represents the beginning of the journey. The soul is surrounded in dakrness and loneliness. He hunts for both answers and peace, but as the journey expands, the soul falls deeper and deeper into the darkness. The tension of the soul's heart deepends as he tries to keep his head above water, being careful not to drown. After a moment of silence, his heart starts pumping (the second theme). As the soul tries to find answers, his feelings quickly turn into anger and rage. The heart starts pumping faster and faster as the answer swells. After experiencing harsh and fast paced andery feelings, the soul calms down to a peaceful stage, where it finds answers. Satisfied, the soul feels that his journey has ended. He then realizes that these answers only provided temporary relief. Not knowing what else to do, the soul erupts to the anger and rage feelings once again, this time stronger and louder until he expands to self explosion and destruction. The soul now finds himself back to the first step of his journey. He listens to himself and finds that the answers to his questions were always there within himself. But realizing that he had gone back to square one, new questions arise. Will these feelings of darkness ever end? Will they come back again? The soul discovers that these new questions may never be answered.
